Adjust your workspace appearance, log out, and reset your password using the steps below. Password recovery depends on how you sign in.
Open your account menu
Select your name or avatar at the bottom of the left sidebar. If the sidebar is collapsed, select your avatar. The account menu contains your theme controls and the Log out option.
Change dark mode and high contrast
In the account menu, find the Theme section:
- Dark mode switches to a darker appearance. Turn it off to return to light mode.
- High contrast increases contrast in the interface to improve readability. You can use it with either light or dark mode.
Turn either switch on or off. Changes take effect immediately, with no Save button required. Your choices are saved in your browser. If you switch browsers or devices, or clear your cookies, you may need to choose them again.
Log out
- Open your account menu from your name or avatar.
- Select Log out.
Stack Internal ends your current browser session and returns you to sign-in. If you use company single sign-on, your session with your company’s identity provider may remain active.
Reset your password
If you sign in with an email address and password
- Open the Stack Internal sign-in page.
- Enter the email address you use for your account, then select Continue with email.
- On the password screen, choose the password-reset option and follow the prompts to request a reset email.
- Open the link in the email and choose a new password that meets the requirements shown.
- Return to Stack Internal and sign in with your new password.
If the email does not arrive, check that you entered the correct address and look in your spam or junk folder. If the reset link has expired or has already been used, request a new one.
If you sign in through company single sign-on
Reset your password through your company’s sign-in provider, such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID, or contact your IT team. Your company manages that password; it cannot be changed from the Stack Internal account menu.
